Description Description
A beautifully restored Historic home on Indian Pass, Jubilee Cottage is the ideal place to create wonderful family beach memories. Spend hours laughing on the front porch with friends with the sound of the surf to keep you company.

Originally a dairy farmhouse, the home was built in 1910. In 2005, the cottage was relocated to Indian Pass from Port St. Joe and lovingly restored. The renovation preserved all of the cottage’s original charm while adding every modern convenience. Early 2010 brought even more renovations. New furnishings, linens, and appliances dress up the home just in time for its 100th anniversary.

The quiet beach of Indian Pass will make you feel like you have found the last undiscovered beach on the planet. Spend your days lazing in the sun, building sand castles, or watching for dolphins. Plan to build a beach bonfire one night for roasting marshmallows, chasing Ghost crabs, and counting stars. Sea turtles nest in the area from May-October and Turtle Patrol Volunteers take turns early every morning looking for signs of a new nest to secure.

Love to fish* Charter a boat at the Port Saint Joe Marina for a deep sea adventure, put your own boat in the water at the Indian Pass Campground boat launch a mile down the road, or enjoy casting and catching from the shoreline. Not to be missed is the famous Indian Pass Raw Bar a few minutes from the house. On an honor system, help yourself to a cold beverage in the cooler, grab any available chair, and catch up on the latest gossip along the Forgotten Coast with the locals and folks wishing they were locals. Fresh oysters and shrimp caught in the area’s waters are served along with quite a few hot dogs.

While the beach is the highlight, the cottage is right in between Port St. Joe and Apalachicola. Both towns offer plenty of restaurants and shops to explore. The Owl Café is a favorite restaurant in Apalach for lunch or dinner. Spend time browsing through the historic Grady Market and you will surely find something you just can’t live without. Head West on C30 to visit Port St. Joe. Visit the Farmer’s Market along Reid Ave on Saturdays in the summer, catch an outdoor movie, grab a meal and/or drinks at one our delicious local restaurants.

We love to cook and the kitchen is a chef’s dream. A professional gas range and oven, stainless steel cabinets and prep areas along with new gadgets and appliances are highlights. The Big Chill Retro Refrigerator is a nod to the vintage kitchen that once graced the cottage. Enjoy dining on the screened porch just off of the kitchen.

The living room has plenty of space for your family to chat, grab a book, or cheer for your favorite team on the flat screen TV/DVD.

The cottage really has two master bedrooms. Bedroom one has an elegant peacefulness. The attached bathroom has a large shower with an antique stained glass window for light. Bedroom two has crisp white linens and a pop of bright colors here and there. The attached bathroom has a tub and shower. Both rooms have queen sized beds, TV/DVDs, and IPod stations. The third bedroom also has a queen bed and provides a desk.

The back porch has a private outdoor shower perfect for hosing down sandy kids, dogs, and husbands. Speaking of dogs… four legged family members with perfect manners may be able to join in the fun. Special approval, and fee required. Well behaved owners are allowed to bring their dogs on the beaches of Indian Pass.

Love the kitchen, great set up for families that like to cook a lot! My only suggestion is to cut the bushes down in front of house so you can enjoy those gulf front views

Thanks for your feedback and trimming on the beach front bushes is already in process.

We really enjoyed our stay! It was private and comfortable. The cooktop in the kitchen and the jetted tub were really nice upgrades.

I really want to give this property a 5 star but the upkeep details were just a no go for me. We would not return to this property unless it were either significantly cheaper or fully maintained.  We did report a hot water issue and an issue with a window not closing. Those were taken care of promptly. However, as mentioned above, there were details of the home that were very disappointing for the price and location. There was a step that was rotting, slats missing from the shutters, and a hand rail on the boardwalk with exposed screws.

There is no doubt that the exterior, and really interior too, of beach houses, especially ones directly on the water are exposed to a harsh environment.  Thank you for providing details on the issues and we'll certainly look into them to see what can be done to get them fixed.

The property is very nice, good location, great screened porch and sun deck. The furniture needs to be updated and the beds very uncomfortable. The kitchen is very nice. Its a great thing to have an elevator.

Basic items needed for preparing meals were not available. The knives were limited and dull. The beds and couch were extremely uncomfortable and the two queen beds were VERY loud to even roll-over on. The stove vent in the kitchen kept us up most nights clanging. The master bath jets do not work. The window in the queen sized guest room does not shut. We felt unsafe all week as neither of the front doors in the living room or master bedroom lock. The staircase getting into the house is rotting and very slippery when wet. The dust and mold is prolific. Pros: The appliances are wonderful. The layout and space was perfect. Great internet connectivity and televisions. Nice master bath shower. Loved the screened in porch. Great view. Great proximity to beach. Nice location half way between Apalachicola and Port St. Joe's amenities. Quiet beach area. Wonderful beach and wildlife.

My major concern is that the property fronts a channel rather than the ocean. When I searched for “beach front” properties, I assumed they would be ocean front. Although the scenery was beautiful, the current was very strong and impossible to swim or even float in and the water was full of jelly fish. I was stung pretty badly. Little girls down the beach were stung. Many people were stung and commented on the fact that the water was full of jelly fish. We finally packed our umbrellas, chairs, cooler, and bags, and went to a public beach on Cape San Blas. Very disappointing.

Great place to enjoy the quiet.
Since our property on Cape San Blas was not ready, we were shifted over to this house for our vacation. This home is beautiful on the inside and appears to be newly remodeled. The rooms were spacious and the garden tub was our favorite night time stop! The kitchen is well equipped for any type of cooking . The other guest rooms were nice and the rooms furnished with all of the necessities. The best part of this home is the quiet beach front. At times we were the only people on the beach in either direction. Once all of the fishermen have left the marina in the morning, all you will hear is a the ocean breeze. A kayak is a must as you have to visit St. Vincent island. The ocean water is beautiful on the island and the shells are huge. The current can be tricky going over but well worth the trip. You can also drive on the Indian Pass beach which is fun, many people bring golf carts and ride around the beach. We had a great time at this home and recommend it to others looking for a quiet hideaway. A couple of issues to be aware of. -Insects are looking for you, make sure to bring a strong repellent. We used repellent everyday. -The ocean water is not going to be the beautiful clear water you are used to in the gulf. Most days the water was brown. Reminded me of swimming in the lake back home. -The home has some musty issues in the garage, elevator and laundry room. Being allergic to mold, my last couple of days were not as happy as the first of the week. We keep the garage doors open the entire stay which helped with the air. I am sure this is due to the hurricane and beyond the owners abilities to correct. In time I think this will go away. Select this spot for quiet and a beautiful home for a large group.
