We enjoyed our stay. The house was well stocked for what we needed. The beach is quiet and the neighborhood friendly. We loved having the pool but in October with sunny days the water was cold. Next time we will pre-pay to have it heated the day we arrive.

Great nice sized property for a family beach trip. Pool was perfect and very convenient. A very short walk to the beach and lastly the beach was beautiful. Indian Pass is a perfect location

Tough to corral small children safely in the upstairs portion of the house. Loved the location.

The house was perfect with a great view. Well stocked kitchen and the air worked great. My only negative about the property was the distance from the beach access. It was farther than expected. Perhaps a map with the distance from the house would be helpful to people looking to rent the property. It was a long walk with all of our baby gear.

Wonderful family getaway spot if you’re looking for quiet, easy beach access and comfortable home!
The layout worked perfectly for spacing out 2 families with kids. We loved using the private pool every day- it is well maintained! And the covered garage with outdoor shower and hose to wash off beach toys is so helpful when coming back to the house. It was nice to use the rental service for beach items (chairs and umbrella) to save car space
We love being able to do beach fires and took advantage of that! There was even some firewood to use at the house!
A few things to note: the gas grills were old, rusty and not at all in a usable condition (and that’s what we count on in this type of location where restaurants are scarce!)
The charcoal grill is open air/park style, so it did work for oysters and hamburgers, just takes extra time
The kitchen is very well stocked!
DO bring your own dishwasher, laundry and paper supplies-there was no-very limited supply of each on arrival.
The house was very clean with the exception of each bed having a sandy grit in it on the first day, we re washed some sheets.
Communication is easy and talking to the rental property helped get answers to questions quickly. Overall, a wonderful rental and Gulf coast beach location!

Beautiful property BUT 2 big issues. The mattresses were HORRIBLE. Reminded me of sleeping at away camp. We left a day early just so we wouldn’t have to sleep on those mattresses. In a property as nice and for the price point, they need to invest in better mattresses to attract repeat customers. I have rental property in the mountains and this is a no brainer. Also, there is no immediate beach access and you have to drive 1/2 mile to access beach. This need to be clearly listed in the listing and map posted of access points. Would not have rented if we’d known it would o be an ordeal to get to beach! With 2 kids this was not an easy feat.

Thank you for your feedback on the property and your stay.  To be clear the distance from the driveway of the house to the neighborhood boardwalk is exactly 0.18 miles.  However if you drive to the nearest public beach access it is 1.03 miles.  Our site reflects the steps to the beach using the boardwalk.  Also I wanted to offer that in October 2020 the mattress have been replaced based on the feedback of multiple guests.

This is our families 10th trip to Cape San Blas. We have stayed in a different house every time and Mermaid Cove is now one of our favorites. The house is absolutely beautiful and so is the view from the decks. The house was stocked with everything we needed and more. The location is great with only a short walk to the Trading Post and a short drive to the Beach store. The only question is how to access the beach. A very nice family let us use the board walk from their house to access the beach. We would definetly stay here again!

We're glad to hear you had such a great time and look forward to seeing you for the 11th trip.  To answer the question about beach access, the offical access for the subdivision is down the road to the north with a boardwalk specifically for the Ocean Haven subdivision.  However if you befriend another family with a closer boardwalk that allows you to use it then that works too!

Interruptions in internet, cable, or phone service while very frustrating are completely outside of our control.  We have always offered the use of our office wifi or spare computer for those in need.
